I have a painting by C. Cooper, does anyone know of this artist?
Ok I bought an oil painting when I was in the Dominican Republic holiday about 5 years ago was signed C. Cooper. I can not for the life of me find this artist is that even when you google. The artwork is absolutely incredible! It is a beautiful oil painting on canvas in bright colors that is almost an abstract way. Everyone says they see is that it reminds them of a Picasso. This painting was around 100 when bought in the Dominican and was very different from other traditional Paintings seen in the Dominican Republic. I just want to know if anyone has heard of the artist or have any work of this artist and if this type of Art is probably worthless.
If you bought a painting signed by someone named C. Cooper in the Dominican Republic's chances bought what is known in the trade as a "painting of tourism." paintings 'Tourism' are an artist paint factories usually in Eastern Europe or Central America. The artists who whip these "tourists" or "art of decoration of the paintings are paid by the painting (for very little money to the rules) and not allowed to use their real names. Most of them are European or English names assigned sounding to sign the works. Do you think that Cooper's name sounds like a native Dominican Republic last name? Anyway, they were not allowed to use their real names is very unlikely to ever know who really painted his painting. You can not find any information online about the artist, because he or she does not paint under his real name. This does not mean that he bought the painting is not a big picture or is not fine art or not is unique in some way. Some of the artists who make these pictures tourism are very very good artists. It just means you have very little value to a knowledgeable art collector. But what should be important is the value of art for the owner and the viewer. While love is priceless, then you.
